Don't forget about the Public Library

Really quick...
There is a link to the right SAN DIEGO PUBLIC LIBRARY
Please use this. If you do not have a lirbary card, please go get one.

You are able to go to this website and search for a book. After you have found the book you want and clicked on the title to see which library it is in; you can then reserve this book and have it sent FOR FREE to the Scripps Miramar Library (located in walking distance of Miramar Ranch). I wish I could explain this better, but just try it out. Go to the link and use it. Ask your parents for help or if they might have a library card you can use.

When you reserve a book it usually takes two days. If the library does not have your phone number or email address you may have to call them to see if it has come in. They will have no way of telling you it has arrived for you to pick up.

If you are really confused go in and ask a Librarian for help.

It's me, Miss Maile. I guess I did not explain blogs in detail to you all. Sorry for that. Okay, each day I am able to write you a new letter(message) like the one you are reading right now. IT'S WORKING!

Hi all,
I was so excited to turn on my computer this evening and see there were so many of you who posted a comment!!! I want to thank Reyna for posting the first comment to get it all rolling. And to the rest of you thank you for trying it out and not being scared. I know it can be a bit awkward to have your questions and words posted for everyone in class to read. But I think it will make you a stronger writer. It also gives you a chance to speak up in a different way.

So... Mrs. Tanghal got on the blog as well and answered some questions. THANK YOU!

An Experiment

Hi Mrs. Tanghal's class!

I thought it would be fun to create a blog to help you along with your research papers. If you don't already know what a blog is... it is a site where I can post messages and you can respond. I will also be placing LINKS along the right hand side of the page. These LINKS will take you to databases that will help you find information on your research topic.

I would love for all of you to tell me what your subject is. Also tell me what you have narrowed your subject down to.

For example:
My subject is on picture books. I am going to find out how a writer and an illustrator work together to write a book.

This information will help me find websites and other information for you all. Also if you find a good site that everyone can use post it on the blog. I can then make a LINK for everyone to use.

Hope this site is helpful. This is my first time writing a blog for a class at Miramar Ranch. I am excited and a bit worried that it might not work correctly. But hey, I thought I would try.

One last thing...
I am here to help you all, but I will NOT DO ALL OF YOUR RESEARH FOR YOU This is a blog to help you find information. What you do with that information is up to you.
